Why choose the green coffee beans class at Momos?

Momos began importing green coffee beans from four Central American countries in 2011, during the early days of the specialty coffee movement. Fast forward to 2024, and we now import green coffee beans from over 130 farms across 16 countries worldwide.

In the meantime, Momos has grown into a globally recognized specialty coffee roastery. Ranked in the 2024 Global Top 50 Roasters and achieving the #1 spot in the Asia region. In 2022, Momos was also awarded the Notable Roaster title at the .
Momos is well known for successfully managing both B2B and B2C businesses. The key to this success lies in our careful management of the raw material, green coffee beans. Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this class suitable for everyone?

This class is designed at a level that anyone who loves specialty coffee can easily follow and enjoy.

Even if you are not currently doing direct trade, will this class still be helpful?

Although the class covers direct trade in detail, it doesn’t mean we are recommending it to everyone. There are many factors to consider in the import and distribution process, such as what to pay attention to, how to respond to quality issues, whether the pricing is reasonable, and so on. There are several aspects to be mindful of.

However, the advantages of directly importing green coffee beans are clear, and the accessibility to do so, even on a smaller scale, is improving. For those considering trying this approach, this class will provide valuable learning that can help you avoid costly mistakes.

Of course, depending on the situation, it might be much better to purchase green beans through an importer, or it could be more beneficial to receive roasted beans. But there is a significant difference between making such decisions without any knowledge and making them after gaining a general understanding through this class.

A high level of understanding of raw materials ultimately leads to better roasting and brewing. For roasters and baristas, having knowledge of the coffee’s characteristics and expected flavors allows them to predict how it should be roasted and brewed, assess whether the results meet expectations, and identify any potential issues if the extraction is unsatisfactory.

Additionally, as your business grows, you can make impactful changes to your green bean supply strategy at the right time

Isn’t some of the content specific to the Korean market?

Some of the content in Chapter 5, related to the import procedures, is specific to the Korean market. Since customs regulations differ from country to country, it may not apply exactly the same way everywhere. However, the general framework is similar, so it will still be helpful as a reference for practical use.

Where is Momos located?
